This past week I finished my Sebastian's zoo blanket.  Since I'm new to sewing, there were a lot of mistakes.  I can't seam to get the two fabrics that I'm sewing together to stay put.  Once I start sewing they always move so I end up having to cut both fabrics and the end, and the blanket doesn't come out even.

Overall I think I did okay for my second blanket.

I'll post pictures of it tomorrow once I load them onto my computer.

Superman Birthday Party

My son's birthday is in less than a month from now. We're doing a superman theme since the emblem has an "s" for Sebastian.

Here is one of the projects I need to finish before then, a superman blanket.

One side of the blanket is a superman print on cotton fabric, and the other side is a blue fleece. One the fleece side I am adding the superman emblem made out of felt.

I sewed a satin stitch on the felt first before sewing on to the fleece. I had read a couple of articles the night prior about how hard it was to sew appliqué on to fleece, so I didn't want to go through the hassle. It didn't come out too bad. Tomorrow I will be sewing the two fabrics together to finish my first project. After that I will continue with my superman t-shirt, I still need to find myself a nice solid shirt to sew it on. Either blue or turquoise and a little more girly than a t shirt.

Hello everyone
This is my very first time blogging.

I'm Mami de Sebastian,which translates to Sebastian's mom in Spanish.

I want to make this blog about my current hobbies which include sewing and cake decorating. Also about raising my first child, Sebastian. I'm a beginner in all of the above, so there is much to learn from lots of mistakes, well let's hope not too many!

Can't wait to start blogging about my ideas and my projects.
